It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. 

Forward Movement's initial passion was clean water. Its founder, Syed Ahmed, a professional engineer, developed a process of purifying dirty and contaminated water into clean drinkable water using different types of filtration methods and an electro-chemical reaction chamber. He incorporated this system into a compact portable unit which he termed, "Clean Water Machine for the World," The process  that he invented was patentable, however, he chose not to do so. He was motivated to serve the needs of the poor people of the world who have no access to clean water, rather than commercialize his invention for profit.

Forward Movement expanded its services over the years into micro-lending , disaster response to earthquakes and floods, and rebuilding the devastated communities, women empowerment, education support in underserved communities, solar energy initiatives, sustainable agriculture, conflict zone help and support, supporting the raising of chicken and livestock, sanitation, environmental preservation, and intervention in health emergencies.

Forward Movement partners with micro finance institutions, nonprofit charities, group cooperatives, social enterprises, community banking, as well as directly with individual entrepreneurs.
